Thank you for choosing Sorted & Settled. My aim is to provide a friendly, professional and supportive home-organising service, helping you create spaces that feel calmer, more organised and easier to manage. These Terms & Conditions explain how my services work, including bookings, payments, cancellations and responsibilities. Please read them before confirming your booking.

1. Services Provided

Sorted & Settled offers home-organising and decluttering services, including: home organising and storage solutions; decluttering and sorting personal belongings; organising rooms, cupboards, wardrobes, kitchens and other household spaces; packing and preparing belongings for a house move; and helping clients identify unwanted items and arrange collections by suitable third parties. The exact work to be completed will be agreed with you before the appointment begins. Any additional work requested during a session may be agreed subject to availability and any adjustment to the estimated time or cost.

2. Booking and Confirmation

Appointments can be requested by contacting Sorted & Settled directly. A booking will be confirmed once the agreed service details have been established and the required 50% deposit has been received. The agreed date, time, service and estimated cost will be confirmed with you before work begins.

3. Deposits and Payments

A 50% deposit is required to confirm your booking. Single-day bookings: a 50% deposit is payable when booking; the remaining balance is due in full once the agreed work has been completed. Multi-day bookings: a 50% deposit is required to confirm the booking; payment will then be due at the end of each working day for the work completed that day, in accordance with the payment schedule agreed before the project begins. Additional work: any additional services or costs must be discussed and agreed with you before proceeding. All payments must be made using the payment method agreed at the time of booking.

4. Cancellations and Rescheduling

I understand that circumstances can change. If you need to cancel or rearrange an appointment, please provide at least 48 hours' notice and contact Sorted & Settled as soon as possible. Where less than 48 hours' notice is given, a cancellation charge may be considered to cover reasonable losses directly resulting from the cancellation, subject to applicable consumer law and the circumstances involved. Deposits and advance payments will be handled fairly, taking account of any work already completed, costs incurred and applicable legal rights. A deposit will not automatically be treated as non-refundable in every circumstance. If Sorted & Settled needs to cancel or rearrange an appointment, you will be informed as soon as reasonably possible and offered an alternative appointment or an appropriate refund where applicable. Statutory cancellation rights: depending on how your booking is made, you may have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of entering into the contract. This is separate from the 48-hour cancellation policy.

5. Multi-Day Projects

For projects requiring more than one day, the estimated duration, total cost and payment schedule will be discussed and agreed in advance. Payment will be due at the end of each working day for the work completed that day, as set out in the agreed payment schedule. If the project takes longer than anticipated, any proposed additional time or cost will be discussed with you before proceeding. If a multi-day project is paused, cancelled or cannot be completed, any outstanding payment or refund will be calculated fairly, taking account of work completed, payments received, agreed costs and applicable legal rights.

6. Client Responsibilities

To help ensure each session runs smoothly, clients agree to: provide safe and reasonable access to the areas being organised; identify any items that must not be moved, sorted or handled; communicate any special requirements or concerns before work begins; make decisions about which personal belongings to keep, relocate, donate or discard; provide any necessary instructions and approvals during the organising process; and ensure that any children, pets or other household considerations are appropriately managed for safe working conditions. Clients remain responsible for their personal belongings and for making final decisions about their possessions.

7. Decluttering, Donations and Disposal

Sorted & Settled can support clients in identifying unwanted items, sorting belongings and preparing items for collection. However, Sorted & Settled does not transport items to donation centres, deliver unwanted belongings, remove rubbish or dispose of items on behalf of clients. Clients are responsible for arranging and managing any donation, collection or disposal service, including associated costs. No belongings will be donated, discarded or removed from the property without the client's clear permission. Where requested, Sorted & Settled may assist with organising items ready for collection and helping the client coordinate collection arrangements.

8. Packing and Moving Preparation

Sorted & Settled can assist with organising, sorting and packing household belongings in preparation for a move. The scope of work, estimated time and any agreed packing materials or additional costs will be discussed beforehand. Unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing, the service does not include transporting belongings, providing removal-van services, dismantling specialist equipment or undertaking specialist removal work. Clients are responsible for identifying fragile, valuable or particularly sentimental items and providing clear instructions for their handling.

9. Care of Belongings and Liability

I will take reasonable care when handling your belongings and working in your home. Clients should identify fragile, valuable, irreplaceable or particularly sentimental items before work begins. If an item is accidentally damaged, the circumstances will be discussed promptly and handled fairly. Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other rights or liabilities that cannot legally be excluded or restricted.

10. Safety and Access to the Property

Clients must provide a reasonably safe working environment. Sorted & Settled reserves the right to pause or decline work where there is a serious health or safety concern, unsafe access, hazardous materials or circumstances that make it unreasonable to continue. Where work cannot proceed safely, the next steps — including any rearrangement or payment implications — will be discussed fairly and in accordance with applicable law.

11. Products and Additional Expenses

Storage containers, organisers, packing materials and other products are not included in the service price unless specifically stated. Any proposed purchases or additional expenses will be discussed with the client and approved before being incurred. Clients remain responsible for the cost of products they authorise.

12. Privacy and Confidentiality

Any personal information shared with Sorted & Settled will be handled with care and used only for the purposes of providing the agreed service. Client details will not be shared unnecessarily with third parties, except where required by law or where sharing is necessary and lawful for the delivery of an agreed service.

13. Photographs and Marketing

Before-and-after photographs may be useful for documenting progress or demonstrating the services provided. Photographs that identify a client, their home or their belongings will only be used for promotional purposes with the client's separate permission. Clients can decline permission for marketing photographs without affecting the service they receive.

14. Changes to Agreed Work

If the scope of a project changes, I will discuss any revised arrangements, time estimates and costs with you before proceeding. No significant additional work or expenditure will be undertaken without your agreement.

15. Complaints and Concerns

If you have any concerns about the service, please contact Sorted & Settled as soon as possible so that we can try to resolve the matter constructively. I will review your concerns fairly and aim to agree an appropriate resolution. These Terms & Conditions do not affect your statutory consumer rights.

16. Acceptance of Terms

By confirming a booking and paying the required deposit, you acknowledge that you have been given the opportunity to read and understand these Terms & Conditions. A copy will be provided for your records.
